Recently I saw on my local news a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq. As I watched the brave men and women meeting family and friends, I noticed some looked excited and others looked shocked. I wondered if they had been prepared to reenter their lives: lives once so familiar, lives that had an ebb and flow, lives that had the rhythm of a heart beat. I worried about these soldiers, their families and friends. Who would be there if they needed help? support? unconditional acceptance and love?
